What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a Glucagon-like peptide which was initially used to treat diabetics. At lower doses, we can use the medication for obesity treatment. The medication aids in blocking hunger receptors and slows GI motility. This allow us to consume the right amount of food our body needs, not what it wants!
Who qualifies for Semaglutide?
Generally, individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher or a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related health condition, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol, may qualify for Semaglutide treatment.
Who should not use Semaglutide?
Any person having a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, a personal history of multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2, or if you have had an allergic reaction to Ozempic or any of its ingredients.
